Content Management for Lawson Learning Accelerator

How can we track and manage the training content we’ve generated with Lawson Learning Accelerator? It’s becoming quite a record-keeping challenge!

All you need is Learning Manager, a robust content management system developed especially for Lawson Learning Accelerator.

If you need to train staff and document your systems, you may be among the many companies around the world who are already using Lawson Learning Accelerator. One of the biggest value propositions of Learning Accelerator is that it’s not simply Lawson-focused; you can use it with any application software your business runs — which means you may quickly find yourself with a great deal of content to manage and track.

To meet this challenge, Lawson developed a management system for Lawson Learning Accelerator that will quickly and easily deploy, track, and report on content activities, even as Learning Accelerator-built content expands. The application delivers learning content to your end users based on their specific profiles and requirements.

“This tool will help you easily manage volumes of records,” explains Larry Marty, global product owner for Learning Accelerator. “Plus, because it’s so easy to install, you can be up and running within a Microsoft SQL Server environment in less than 24 hours.”

Benefits for Learners
Learners can log in to Learning Manager and view the courses and material pertinent to their area of responsibility. They may also review their own progress, print reports, and view statistical data.

Benefits for Administrators
Authorized managers and administrators will find that Learning Manager is especially useful as an assessment tool. You can use it not only to push content out to your users, but also to evaluate their understanding of the content — and tweak it where necessary to help improve the learning experience. You can also review groups of learners and generate reports, limit the courses to which users have access, monitor training quality and user progress, and more.

“We have over 50 customers worldwide who are beginning to use Lawson Learning Accelerator,” Marty notes. Now, with the addition of this content management tool, they’ll get even more value from their initial investment.”

A New Approach for Lawson System Foundation Training

Starting this April we’re combining two popular classes into one streamlined five-day course titled Lawson System Foundation and Administration 9.0. In the past, we offered a two-day Technical Foundation class, followed by a three-day System Administration course; however, customers did not always realize both opportunities were available. To offer a better learning experience, we’ve refreshed the content and redesigned the course. We’ll use the first day to discuss the foundational concepts and use the remaining four days to cover the substantial administration features. Separate versions of the course are offered for all three platforms: Windows, Unix, and System i.

Have You Heard: Course Changes & Highlights

  • Our best seller just got better! We listened to your concerns about long waiting lists for Lawson Security Administration 9.0, and took some action. Beginning in April, this class will be offered twice each month to meet the high demand. Our more robust technology schedule also includes Lawson System Foundation 9.0 Administration for Migration from Environment 8.03 which is scheduled twice each month.

  • We recently expanded the General Ledger training course to give you a richer hands-on experience — and give us more time to cover all the essentials. The four-day course, offered monthly, provides in-depth coverage of all the core information you need. Report Writer for General Ledger, which was formerly embedded in the General Ledger course, is now a separate two-day course offered twice each quarter.

  • When you register for our three-day Accounts Payable course you’ll also want to sign up for the related Invoice Matching course. Invoice matching information is covered in a separate two-day class that is scheduled immediately after Accounts Payable. Make sure you get the full picture and register for both.
