If you have users in your organization who need to get up to speed on Lawson fast, you've got a lot in common with customers around the globe who are ramping up with Learning Accelerator. This new product is fast becoming the training and documentation tool of choice for Lawson customers. Lawson has always offered training and documentation for our products, but until now customers weren't able to personalize it to the needs of their organization. With Learning Accelerator you can create customized, role-based simulations using your own Lawson configuration and your own business data. If you wanted to create custom training and documentation, it used to be very time consuming and expensive. But today you can capture a business process in real time and use it to quickly design hands-on exercises, create documentation, and develop knowledge assessments. "Customers can use the tool while testing configuration and set up during implementation or upgrades, or even after an implementation to create training for new employees," says Larry Marty, Global Product Owner for Learning Accelerator. A big benefit of Learning Accelerator is that you can use one simulation-capture (authoring) session to create a mixture of content, allowing your users read, hear, and see the business process in context of their specific job. This content mix allows you to provide training for a variety of learning styles, giving each end user the experience they need to be successful. To find out how Learning Accelerator can improve your end-user training, click here to sign up for one of our ongoing WebEx presentations or listen to the recorded sessions. Or for immediate action, send an e-mail to lawsonlearning@lawson.com and we’ll help you jump start your end user training with Learning Accelerator. If you have a problem that's looking for a solution, send us an e-mail. We'll get back to you promptly, and consider featuring your question in a future issue of SimplySmarter. |

Before joining Lawson, Glen worked as a software engineer and business analyst at another prominent software company. In addition, he has years within the financial and accounting industries in a variety of positions. Glen holds two bachelor degrees from the University of Illinois, a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Management. "I always thought I would be a teacher, even in college," says Glen. He currently teaches key technology courses, including Lawson Security Administration 9.0, and a new class geared to customers who have experience with the Lawson 8.03 release and need help making the transition to the new Lawson 9 technology and applications release. "What I like most about training," Glen explains, "is the fact that I can have an effect on so many people. As a consultant I was able to make a difference for only one or two clients each week. As a teacher, I can have an audience of 10 different clients for each class." "I also enjoy knowing what customers need to do their jobs," he continued. "Having been on the other side, I can come in and structure a course using real world examples. That has made it a lot of fun." Glen believes that quality training is the foundation for success in any implementation, upgrade, or migration. He says, "With knowledge comes understanding, which translates into correct decisions and execution. I strive for the perfect mix of product knowledge transfer and applied real world implementation examples/experiences." |
